Two years ago, Scotlandville won the Allstate Sugar Bowl Prep Classic. Last year, the Hornets were shocked in the opening round of the event by Karr. The memory lingered and the Hornets were determined to get the bad taste out of their mouths Wednesday afternoon.
They did so, controlling play from start to finish in an impressive 84-46 victory over White Station (Tenn.) at the Alario Center.
The Hornets started quickly and never looked back, opening the game on a 5-0 run and finishing the quarter on a decisive 14-0 run before the Spartans scored the final basket of the period to stop the run and it was 26-10. Carvell Teasett had 15 points in the quarter while Reece Beekman had nine for the Hornets.
