WESTWEGO – When you shoot the ball well, exhibit patience, defend well and take care of the basketball, good results are sure to follow.

That was the case for Madison Prep Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Allstate Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic at the Alario Center.

The Chargers broke open a close game in the second quarter and went on to whip Christ School of North Carolina, 62-43.

Madison Prep sank nine 3-pointers, won the battle of the boards and committed just four turnovers in a very efficient performance.

The first quarter had six lead changes before Kevon Shannon nailed the fourth 3-pointer of the quarter for the Chargers against the Christ School 2-3 zone to give Madison Prep a 14-10 lead.
